AMBASSADOR N.OYUNDARI TAKES PART IN THE POLISH PRESIDENT'S NEW YEAR RECEPTION

Ambassador N. Oyundari attended a New Year ceremony hosted by H.E. Mr. K. Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland, for members of the diplomatic corps on 15 January 2026.

During the event, President Nawrocki delivered remarks to the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of Poland, in which he highlighted the country’s achievements over the past 35 years.

He noted that, owing to the diligence of the Polish people, strong business initiative, and sustained commitment to innovation, Poland’s economy has surpassed USD 1 trillion, placing the country among the world’s twenty largest economies. He further emphasized that comprehensive political, social, and economic reforms implemented since the 1990s have resulted in a 210 percent increase in GDP per capita, a twenty-eightfold expansion of exports, and an eight-year increase in average life expectancy, describing these developments as historic accomplishments.

In concluding his address, President Nawrocki underscored that, at a time when global security is increasingly fragile and peace can no longer be taken for granted, war and aggression are exerting a tangible impact on the daily lives of nations. In this context, he reaffirmed Poland’s firm support for the efforts of the international community aimed at building a just and sustainable peace to ensure security in Europe.
