MEMBERS OF THE MONGOLIAN–POLISH PARLIAMENTARY GROUP OF THE STATE GREAT HURAL OF MONGOLIA, HELD A MEETING WITH MS. WANDA NOWICKA
On April 15, 2026, members of the Mongolian–Polish Parliamentary Group of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Members of Parliament Ms. D.Uuriintuya and Ms. D.Ganmaa, held a meeting with Ms. Wanda Nowicka, Chair of the Women’s Rights Parliamentary Group on Women’s Rights of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
The parties exchanged information on the activities of the women’s groups in the Mongolian and Polish parliaments and discussed a wide range of issues, including establishing mechanisms for future cooperation, sharing experiences, increasing women’s participation at all levels of parliament, strengthening the capacity of women leaders in politics, business, and other sectors, and promoting the protection of women’s rights.
The Polish Parliament has a history of more than 500 years, and while there was once a group composed solely of women members, it has now evolved into a women’s rights group that is notable for including not only women but also men. In Poland, women gained the right to vote and to be elected in 1918—earlier than in the United States—which has contributed to relatively strong female representation and voice at the decision-making level. Nevertheless, many similar challenges continue to face both countries.
