A delegation led by Member of the State Great Hural of Mongolia and Chair of the Mongolian–Polish Parliamentary Group, Mr. J. Zoljargal, visited Katowice and Lubin.

During the visit, the delegation held meetings with representatives of the Central Mining Institute – National Research Institute, the Polish Chamber of Commerce for the Mining Industry, as well as with Mr. Zbigniew Bryja and Mr. Dariusz Jurczak, Vice Presidents of the KGHM Group.

The delegation also visited the Rudna deep copper mine (at a depth of 1,300 meters) of the KGHM Group in Polkowice. They were received by Mr. Wojciech Chojnacki, Director of the Mining Department, who provided an overview of the mine’s operations and exchanged views on opportunities for further cooperation.

The delegation included representatives from Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC, Erdenet Mining Corporation SOE, as well as subcontractor companies of Oyu Tolgoi LLC.

During the visit, the delegation descended into the mine and familiarized themselves with machinery and equipment in the maintenance section, as well as with the ongoing extraction operations.

In addition, representatives of the mining sector accompanying the official delegation followed a separate programme from 14 to 17 April 2026 in Katowice and Lubin, where they visited the Budryk deep coal mine (at a depth of 1,200 meters) operated by JSW, as well as companies such as KGHM Zanam, Famur, Fasing, and Martech Group, and reviewed advanced mining equipment.
