Ambassador N.Oyundari attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition entitled “Following the Dinosaurs: From the Gobi Desert to the Museum of Natural History.”, on May 15, 2026.

Organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the exhibition presents the history of the renowned Mongolian-Polish paleontological expeditions, as well as the scientific legacy and achievements of the distinguished paleontologist Professor Zofia Kielan-Jaworowska, who made a significant contribution to the study of the Gobi Desert.

The central part of the exhibition is dedicated to the Mongolian-Polish joint paleontological expeditions carried out between 1963 and 1971. These expeditions are rightly regarded as among the most important scientific explorations of the 20th century.

Working under the harsh conditions of the Gobi Desert, researchers discovered a remarkable collection of fossils, including dinosaur skeletons and the remains of ancient reptiles, birds, and mammals. These findings have greatly contributed to a deeper understanding of life on Earth approximately 70 million years ago and continue to serve as valuable sources for ongoing scientific research.

The exhibition is also notable for marking the beginning of the establishment of a Museum of Natural History in Poland.

The exhibition will be open to the public on May 16 from 16:00 to 24:00.

Address: Pałac Staszica, Nowy Świat 72, Warsaw
