On 22 May 2026, representatives of the Embassy of Mongolia in the Republic of Poland participated in the ceremony commemorating the 107th anniversary of the National Geological Institute of the Republic of Poland. During the event, the parties reflected on the long-standing historical cooperation between Mongolia and Poland in the field of geology and extended their congratulations and best wishes for the continued expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the future.

Cooperation between Mongolia and Poland in the geological sector dates back to the 1950s. Over the decades, scientists and researchers from the two countries have successfully carried out numerous joint geological surveys, exploration projects, and research expeditions across the territory of Mongolia.

As part of the event, the opening ceremony of the exhibition entitled “Under the Mongolian Sky: The Silence of the Desert, Endless Steppes, and Mineral Wealth” was also held. The exhibition features rare geological specimens and samples discovered in Mongolia and will be open to the public for one month at the Museum of the National Geological Institute of the Republic of Poland. The exhibition serves to promote Mongolia’s unique natural heritage and mineral wealth to the Polish public.
